Cleanup
Weather has improved well enough to begin set up of City Community Garden. Previous tenant decided she did not want to pull her perennials. The chicken wire she left was brought to the dump. Then it was a matter of mulching all the dead plants.
Mulching occurred on 2026-04-11 and 2026-04-12.
On 2026-04-11 a fourth Cattle Panel and four 5 foot t-posts were purchased at Tractor Supply. The 4 trellises were put up on 2026-04-12.
Mushroom Inoculation
The next week calls for constant rain. Given that the city water has not been turned on at the community garden it seemed like an ideal time to spread the mushroom substrate. There was a pile of wood chips and hay from the previous season. That was used along with some cardboard to do the lasagna method of inoculating mushrooms outdoors.
